Team event – 14/02/24

On 14/02/24 we held the first Jolt company lunch.

As the team prepares to move fully into the Barcelona factory we combined the teams from Tarragona & Barcelona for a factory tour followed by lunch before heading out into the city afterwards.

This will surely be the last time we can fit all of Jolt Solutions in this sized venue

New Quality Control Laboratory Manager joins the Jolt team

We are delighted to welcome Miguel Rosal as our new Quality Control laboratory Manager. Miguel has a degree in Chemistry and a master’s degree in Analytical Chemistry from the University of Barcelona. He has previously collaborated with the Electroanalysis group of the University of Barcelona, and has worked in different research centres and chemical companies, both in research and development and in a quality control laboratory.

Speaking on why he joined Jolt Solutions, Miguel said “I joined Jolt Solutions because the time has come for change and to firmly commit to decarbonization and the energy transition.

I believe that green hydrogen offers us a wide range of possibilities for this to happen, both as a fuel and a way to store energy, as well as its use in industrial processes. I want to contribute my grain of sand, together with Jolt Solutions, for a more sustainable world.”

Successful manufacture of 1.5m dia electrodes for customer trial

This week Jolt has been manufacturing 1.5m diameter electrodes for a customer trial, showing that the coating process is fast, flexible and scalable.

During the trial we created 35 x 1.5M anodes for a 500KW alkaline electrolyser demonstrator. As our factory is not due for completion until Q2, we were able to relocate Jolt equipment to another site in the space of a few hours to create the samples.

Production took less than 24 hrs and the resulting anodes outperformed previous smaller scale samples, demonstrating that the large scale process is stable and repeatable.

Global Sales Director, Wayne Thornhill stated, “We’re excited by the results of the trial which allow us to confidently reach out to other electrode customers ready for full production in our new factory from Q2.”
